A Fresh Start Breakfast & Lunch - very friendly staff and delicious, cheap breakfast and lunch. They generally serve until about 1 p.m. Located about 5 minutes away on 302 in Glen (go right onto 302 out of Crawford Pond -- A Fresh Start is on the left in Glen, about 3 miles up). $
The Rare Bear Bistro at the Bernerhof Inn -- an unforgettable meal, located about 5 minutes away on 302 in Glen. Make a reservation if you're dining on the weekend. A little on the pricier side, but well worth the extra bucks. (go right onto 302 out of Crawford Pond -- the Bernerhof is on the left about 2.5 miles up). (603) 383-4414 $$$$
Margarita Grill -- excellent Mexican food in a family atmosphere. Out of Crawford Pond, go right on 302 and travel about 3.5 miles. The Margarita Grill is just before Route 16 on the left. (603) 383-6556. $$
May Kelly's Cottage -- Friendly atmosphere with lots of neat antiques to check out, fun pub, and large menu. Great for kids. Traditional Irish Seisuin (open mike/jam session) on Sunday afternoons. Route 16 in North Conway (on your right) (603)356-7005 $$
Notchland Inn - absolutely delicious 5-course meal, generally $40/per person, served by a very friendly crowd in a room overlooking gorgeous gardens. Reservations required. Perfect for special occasions. (800-866-6131) $$$
The Red Parka Pub -- consistently delicious steak with a friendly family atmosphere. The bar is also always a blast, but get there early because it fills up quite quickly! (603-383-4344) $$
Shannon Door -- a friendly Irish bar and restaurant located at the junction of Rt. 16 and 16a North in Jackson, NH. (Order the pizza -- the other eats are iffy, but the atmosphere is great!) (603) 383-4211 $$

Trail's End Ice Cream Shoppe -- features the best playground ever! Huge wooden trains & trucks to climb while feasting on your sundae! Seasonal hours. Located on Route 302. Easy walk from Crawford Pond. Go right on 302 out of Crawford Pond. Trail's End is about 1/4 mile on the right. They are open seasonally. It's also a a nice walk! (603) 374-2288 $
